Radical Mercy

by

Recently my nephew wanted to help by backing my car into the garage, and we all know how difficult backing can be. We both felt sick when he accidently hit the work bench and did hundreds of dollars of damage to my recently purchased car. He felt terrible and wanted to pay for the repairs, which would have meant more loans for this college student. It was decision time: show mercy or let him pay the price? We all make mistakes and sometimes we just need someone to extend grace to us. Has anyone ever done this for you? We’d love to talk more about this. Comment here.

One Response to “Radical Mercy”

  1. Ken Says:

Some time ago, my place of employment sent me through many medical tests as a result of a work related injury. It was almost as if they were trying to punish me. I was shocked (and subsequently very angry) when HR called me in and notified me that, due to a technicality in the claims process, I would be responsible for half of the bills incurred from many of the unnecessary tests which they had required me to have done. Several weeks after I paid the bills, the plant engineer called me in and handed me a “gift” that he said God had “laid on his heart” to give me. He said that he was sorry for how the company had treated me. The check he gave me covered my “unexpected bills”.
