Traits of Addiction

by

As we address many different types of addictions, many of them follow a similar downward pattern. Let me share with you the five identifiable traits of addiction:

  • The first one is your focus, much of which is directed toward that one thing.
  • The second one is tolerance. You find that you don’t mind those things that at one time had bothered you.
  • Number three is denial. You can’t see the problem and won’t recognize it even when others point it out to you.
  • Number four is consequences. Even though you endure terrible consequences, you still won’t admit you have a problem.
  • And last but not least, is painful withdraw. If you don’t get what you are addicted to, you become irritated, angry, suffer anxiety attacks, and get depressed.

Don’t let it come to this; seek help before it’s too late. Comment here.
