Recently, the media covered a story about a government worker who had been fired from her position because of some racial statements she allegedly had made. The accusations ran fast and wild. Within three days, this government employee was verbally abused, lost her job, and was labeled as a racist who didn’t deserve to work at that level within the government. After the entire story had been revealed, she was found not to be a racist and was actually helping those she had been accused of hurting. The moral of the story is that our tongues can cause damage and can get ahead of our minds. Let me encourage you not to speak unless you have something nice to say, and also, if it’s not true, don’t say it. Have you hurt someone with your words lately? Let us know if we can help.
