The Value of Compromise

by

When two people are in conflict, there are three possible positions to be adopted: Person A, Person B or a hybrid of both also called a compromise. Frankly, oftentimes the best answer isn’t A or B. The conflict grows more intense the harder we fight to get the other person to adopt our position. It’s like pouring gasoline on a fire – it makes the fire burn longer. On the other hand, choosing to compromise will help the conflict die down. A lot like pouring water on a fire. So put away your gas can. Stop trying to force the other person to adopt your view. Compromise isn’t a weakness. It’s effective. Comment here
